This is all for crap. Not sure why it's so hard to get a clear answer on this. People just want to use their m for video stuff.. WTF doesn't it work!?!? Mine works fine without any issues and auto flips between the intel and nvidia gpu. When plugged in and gaming I get smooth p 60fps gaming performance on current games with medium to ultra settings depending on the game Skyrim Special Edition, Shadow Warrior, Saints Row 4, etc..

The intel GPU actually handles video streaming as smoother or smoother than the nvidia and it uses less power overall. I haven't tested this with any Asus laptops that have similar setups.

At least that has been the case with any model I have ever tested. Forgot to mention and just realized. A big chunk and major factor in the Intel power management as well as performance is controlled by the advanced power option settings in windows There is not much of a leap from p to p, I have tested this with movies on my hard drive and both quality levels have same performance results. Sometimes running simple things with the highest end performance especially on battery is worse overall and not just a waste of battery life.

The 3th Gen or better i7 series with Quadcore has more than enough performance for video at 1GHz or less. Programs need to be restarted to pick up the new setting. Or, leave the default as the Intel card, and when you install a new game go to the massive headache - takes 3.

The latter is best to keep battery drain to a minimum. This is a permanent fix. Until you change it. I have the smae frickin problem which my laptop wont use GTX and keep using intel nonstop, the Nvidia control panel even loses its PhysX menu and all!! Have you found a solution to it?

I can't even run roblox. My laptop is also not using the nvidia graphics card what i tried to do is if you disable the intel one in device manager then you launch the game it will use nvidia after launching you tab out and enable it again so now the game is running in nvidia.
