Who is duane in the walking dead

Maybe it's just a fun Easter egg and nod to Morgan's son, but we wouldn't be surprised if the show is laying the foundation for a larger reveal, especially since we've had a few time jumps now so Duane would definitely be an adult by now.

Before the show revealed Dante was secretly a Whisperer on season 10, the show dropped subtle clues to tip viewers off that he couldn't be trusted. We wouldn't rule it out just yet. During Sunday's episode, an ad for the final season teased the wall of photos where Michonne learns her daughter's alive.

It's an interesting coincidence that ad aired this week. At the least, it seems like "TWD" may be considering that story line for someone. If this is supposed to be a mere Easter egg, that'd be a bit of a bummer. It would be a much more satisfying way to bring the show full circle to a character we met on "TWD" pilot in Do you think the bottle featuring Duane's name is just a fun nod or something more?

Nothing is known about Duane's life prior to or as the outbreak began.

He was born in and was born to his mother and Morgan Jones. He may have lived in or near Cynthiana and possibly attended primary school.

He had a father and a mother. As a delirious Rick Grimes mopes about in his neighborhood, Duane hits him over the head with a shovel, and knocks him unconscious. Duane's father, Morgan, realizes Rick is still alive, and they take him into the house they're staying at to care for him. Duane is present during Morgan's explanation to Rick about the zombie outbreak. After talking, Rick, Morgan, and Duane go to the police station where Rick worked.

Rick gives Morgan some guns and a car, and Morgan tells Duane he plans to teach him how to use a gun, because he's old enough. Morgan and Duane plan on staying in the small town, so Rick and Morgan wish each other well and Rick mentions he will come back later for the two. After Rick's departure, Duane and his father return to their shelter in Rick's old neighborhood. Much later, on Christmas, Morgan and Duane are seen alive and living in a cabin on a snowy mountain, in safety and relative comfort.

At some point during the first year of the outbreak Duane was bitten and turned into a walker. His father, Morgan was unable to put him down so he chain him up in a house. Duane was being fed by people that Morgan kill.

Sometime Rick returned, and tried to convince Morgan to kill Duane. Morgan was unable to put him down so he let Duane loose. Being father and son, Morgan was very protective of his son. In the end of book one, their relationship is expressed when Morgan gets Duane a Game Boy, batteries, and game. It was likely that when Duane died, Morgan still had very strong feelings for his son, as shown with Morgan's unwillingness to kill Duane whilst he was a zombie.

Jones is Duane's mother; not much is known of their relationship as her death occurs prior to the comic's opening. Not much is revealed of their relationship. Rick is still seen sad and shocked after his death.

Then, he and Morgan drive away from the sheriff's department in opposite directions. Back home, Duane is covering the windows before dark. Morgan heads up to the attic carrying Rick's rifle he left him. He looks at old photo albums and pictures of his wife.

Tearfully, he positions the rifle facing the street and begins shooting walkers. He commands Duane to stay downstairs when his son gets startled by the gunshots. But when she appears, he breaks down, still unable to shoot her. While Rick is reading the chalkboard, a message catches his eye that reads "Duane Turned".

Later, Morgan tells Rick that he left Duane alone while he searched a basement. When he returned, he saw that Duane had his gun pointed at Jenny, but he couldn't do it, so Jenny attacked Duane.

Morgan then tells Rick that he shot Jenny himself, but it was too late and Duane was bitten. It is unknown whether Morgan put down Duane or left him to roam as a zombie.

Duane briefly appears in a flashback as Morgan breaks down over Benjamin 's death. While Morgan is in a basement looking for supplies, a zombified Jenny approaches Duane, who is unable to kill his mother. Morgan, returns and yells for him, but as Duane turns towards him, Jenny pounces and bites him.

Duane loves his father very much and Morgan comforts Duane when he is sad. When an undead Jenny Jones is spotted by Duane, he cries since it was his mother and Morgan hugs him. Also, during dinner, Morgan and Duane hold hands and pray. Morgan also does not trust his son with a firearm since he cannot shoot.

After Duane's death, Morgan suffers a mental breakdown and decides to kill every survivor he comes across. After reclaiming his sanity, Morgan very rarely mentions Duane, possibly trying not to think of his son to avoid letting his grief overwhelm him. However, after Benjamin's death and his own killing of Richard, who caused Benjamin's death, Morgan refers to Benjamin as 'Duane' before almost breaking down. This shows that despite the time that has passed since his son's death, Morgan still deeply misses him and continues to grieve for him.

A couple of years after his death, Morgan mentions his wife and son to Alicia Clark. Though Morgan obviously misses his family, the grief over Jenny and Duane's loss no longer consumes him completely. Instead, Morgan is able to understand where Max and his family are coming from due to his own actions with Jenny and Duane. Morgan explains how Jenny turned near the start of everything and Duane got turned when neither he nor Morgan could bring themselves to put her down until it was too late.

Duane loved his mother, Jenny, very much. Every time Duane or Morgan sees her undead self, he breaks down in tears. This suggests that Duane misses his mother a lot. It is revealed that Jenny attacks Duane, and he turns because he does not shoot her before he is infected. Though Rick and Duane do not interact much, Duane knocked out Rick assuming he was a walker.

After being tied down and explained what is going on with the world, Rick takes Morgan and Duane to the police station. While there, Rick gives Morgan weapons and a hot shower. Rick hands Duane a pistol and Morgan takes it away swiftly. Rick then tells Duane to take care of Morgan and Duane replies with "yes sir". Later on, when he is looking throughout Morgan's house months after, he eventually finds out Duane turned as of what was written on the wall.

Rick seemed saddened afterwards. Walking Dead Wiki. Walking Dead Wiki Explore. Comic Series. TV Series. Unnamed or Unseen. Characters Seasons. Video Games. Characters Unnamed or Unseen Characters.
